  • Cleaning: To clean the rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver hooks and stainless steel components, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For semi-precious stone beads, use a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh cleaning solutions or chemicals that may damage the rhodium plating or stones.
  • Storage: Store your earrings in a cool, dry place, preferably in a fabric pouch or jewelry box to prevent tarnishing and scratching. Keep them away from extreme temperatures, humidity, and sunlight to protect the plating and stone quality.
  • Rhodium Plating Care: Rhodium plating offers a protective layer that resists tarnishing but can wear over time. To preserve the shine, avoid exposure to moisture, perfumes, lotions, and harsh chemicals. Remove earrings before swimming, showering, or applying beauty products to extend the life of the rhodium plating. Clean the plated components gently with a soft cloth to maintain their appearance.
  • Stainless Steel & Stone Bead Care:
    • Stainless Steel: Stainless steel is highly durable and resistant to tarnishing. However, prolonged exposure to moisture and chemicals can cause discoloration. Wipe with a soft cloth regularly to maintain its finish.
    • Semi-Precious Stone Beads: Semi-precious stones are naturally resilient but sensitive to chemicals and extreme conditions. To keep them in the best condition, avoid direct contact with lotions, perfumes, and cosmetics. Clean them gently with a soft cloth and never soak them in water.
  • General Durability: Handle your earrings with care to avoid impacts or scratches. Avoid wearing them during physical activities, such as exercise or sleeping, which could lead to wear and tear. This will ensure that both the rhodium plating and semi-precious stones maintain their beauty over time.

size-guide-earring

Oathfeed Classic Two-Bead Design

6 & 10mm beads, in some cases the size of the stone beads may vary +-1mm.

Hook lengths range between 1cm basic hooks, 1.5+cm English Locks, 2cm silver hooks – refer to the product photos.

On Earrings’ Weight Principles

In principle I keep the weight below 5 grams per earring, so it doesn’t stretch or hurt your ears even if you wear it the whole day. Occasionally, for some designs, that weight limit exceeds by a gram – every pair has their specific weight marked under the general description or “dimensions” tab.

Prehnite – The Stone of Prophecy and Serenity

Prehnite is a calcium aluminum silicate mineral, cherished for its translucent to transparent qualities and serene color palette, typically ranging from pale green to yellow-green. Its vitreous to pearly luster adds to its gentle allure. This gemstone forms in the cavities of volcanic rocks and is often associated with minerals like datolite, calcite, and epidote. Notably, prehnite is not a zeolite but frequently occurs alongside them. Significant deposits have been found in Australia, South Africa, China, and the United States. Once extracted, prehnite is typically cut into cabochons or beads, highlighting its soft, glowing appearance.

The Golden Variety of Prehnite

While prehnite is commonly found in green shades, there exists a rarer golden variety. Golden prehnite exhibits hues ranging from soft yellow to warm golden tones, attributed to specific mineral inclusions during its formation. This variant is particularly prized for its unique color and is often used in jewelry to create pieces that exude warmth and elegance. Deposits of golden prehnite have been notably found in Australia, adding to its desirability among collectors and gem enthusiasts.

Etymology

Named after Colonel Hendrik Von Prehn, who discovered it in South Africa in the 18th century, prehnite holds the distinction of being the first mineral named after a person. In the gem world, it is sometimes referred to as “grape jade” due to its typical green color and botryoidal (grape-like) formations.

Here are some other known names for the mineral: Cape Emerald, Edelite, Prehnitoid, Chiltonite, Karoo Stone.

Cosmic Junction

In metaphysical circles, prehnite is esteemed as a stone of prophecy and serenity. It is believed to enhance precognition and inner knowing, allowing individuals to attune to higher levels of awareness. Prehnite is also associated with the heart chakra, fostering unconditional love and compassion. Its gentle energy is thought to quiet the mind, promoting clarity and peace. Practitioners often use prehnite in meditation to strengthen intuition and connect with spiritual realms.

The golden variety of prehnite shares these metaphysical properties, with an added emphasis on enhancing personal willpower and manifestation. The warm golden hues are thought to resonate with the solar plexus chakra, aiding in confidence and personal power. In crystal healing practices, golden prehnite is used to balance energy flow and encourage a positive outlook.
