Cleaning:

  • Clean the peridot semi-precious stone beads with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt or oils. Avoid soaking the earrings or using harsh chemicals, as these can damage the stones.
  • Gently wipe the gold-plated 925 sterling silver hooks with a soft jewelry cloth to maintain their shine and prevent tarnishing.

Storage:

  • Store the earrings in a soft pouch or individual jewelry box to prevent scratches on the stones or hooks. Keep them away from other jewelry to avoid tangling or damage.
  • Avoid storing in humid areas to maintain the integrity of the rhodium plating.

Moisture & Chemicals:

  • Remove before swimming, bathing, or using personal care products like perfumes, hairspray, or lotions, as these can dull the stones and damage the gold plating.
  • Avoid exposure to household cleaning chemicals, which may tarnish or corrode the silver hooks.

Handling:

  • Handle the earrings by the hooks rather than pulling on the stones to avoid stress on the components.
  • Be cautious when wearing or removing the earrings to prevent accidental drops or impacts that could chip the stones or damage the hooks.

Repairs (if necessary):

  • If the hooks become loose or damaged, or if the stones are compromised, consult a professional jeweler for repairs. Do not attempt repairs at home to ensure the longevity of the earrings.

Oathfeed Classic Two-Bead Design

6 & 10mm beads, in some cases the size of the stone beads may vary +-1mm.

Hook lengths range between 1cm basic hooks, 1.5+cm English Locks, 2cm silver hooks – refer to the product photos.

On Earrings’ Weight Principles

In principle I keep the weight below 5 grams per earring, so it doesn’t stretch or hurt your ears even if you wear it the whole day. Occasionally, for some designs, that weight limit exceeds by a gram – every pair has their specific weight marked under the general description or “dimensions” tab.

Larimar – The Stone of Tranquil Seas and Divine Connection

Larimar is a rare blue variety of the mineral pectolite, prized for its mesmerizing patterns that resemble ocean waves and skies. It forms in volcanic cavities, where silica-rich fluids interact with calcium under unique geothermal conditions. The resulting stone owes its striking blue hues to trace amounts of copper.

Larimar is found exclusively in the Dominican Republic, making it a geological treasure of the Caribbean. Miners extract it by hand from deep, narrow veins in mountainous terrain. Once polished, larimar reveals a silky luster and intricate patterns, often incorporating shades of white, blue, and green.

Etymology

The name “Larimar” combines “Larissa” (the name of its discoverer’s daughter) and mar, the Spanish word for “sea,” reflecting the stone’s maritime colors. It is sometimes called the “Dolphin Stone” or the “Atlantis Stone,” due to local legends linking it to the lost city of Atlantis. Also known as Lorimar, Stefilia’s Stone, Blue Pectolite & Mermaid Stone.

Cosmic Junction

Larimar is steeped in folklore and mysticism, especially in the Caribbean, where it is revered as a gift from the sea. Dominican traditions hold that larimar channels the spirit of the ocean and its deities, such as Yemayá, the Yoruba goddess of the sea. It is also linked to Atlantis, with some believers suggesting that it carries the wisdom and peace of this mythical civilization.

Metaphysically, larimar resonates with the throat and heart chakras, promoting calm communication, emotional healing, and self-expression. Its gentle energy encourages relaxation, making it a favored stone for meditation and stress relief.

Larimar’s energies align with Neptune, fostering intuition, creativity, and a deep sense of spiritual connection.
