In principle I keep the weight below 5 grams per earring, so it doesn’t stretch or hurt your ears even if you wear it the whole day. Occasionally, for some designs, that weight limit exceeds by a gram – every pair has their specific weight marked under the general description or “dimensions” tab.
Picture Jasper, with its unique landscapes and intricate patterns resembling scenes from nature or abstract art, is a type of chalcedony known for its storytelling quality. Each piece showcases a tableau of earth’s history, featuring bands, spots, or even what look like skies, mountains, or rivers within the stone. Predominantly found in places like Australia, Indonesia, and the USA, Picture Jasper invites one to see the world in miniature, encouraging a connection with nature’s grand design.
While typically known as Picture Jasper, some might call it “Desert Jasper” or “Landscape Jasper” due to its landscape-like patterns, or “Scenic Jasper” for its pictorial qualities.
Picture Jasper isn’t just visually appealing; it’s believed to carry the wisdom of the earth, promoting grounding and a sense of stability. In various cultures, stones like Picture Jasper might be used in meditation or carried as amulets to foster a deeper connection with one’s surroundings, embodying the principle of “as above, so below.” It’s associated with earth energies, resonating with the root chakra for grounding and the third eye chakra for insight and vision.
