  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the beads and metal components with a soft, dry cloth. If needed, lightly dampen the cloth with water, but avoid soaking the earrings. Use a soft toothbrush for cleaning hard-to-reach areas. Avoid harsh chemicals or cleaning solutions.
  • Storage: Store earrings in a dry, cool place, ideally in a fabric-lined jewelry box or pouch to protect them from dust and scratches. When not in use, keep earrings separate from other jewelry to prevent abrasions. Avoid storing in damp or humid environments.
  • Metal Care: The black-coated hypoallergenic copper ear wires, darkened pins, and zinc alloy components may gradually tarnish with time. Clean these parts gently using a jewelry cloth designed for metals. Avoid using abrasive cloths or cleaning agents that could damage the finish. To minimize tarnishing, store your earrings in a dry, airtight container when not in use.
  • Stone Care: Each semi-precious stone and bead (such as tiger’s eye, onyx, jasper, and others) can be sensitive to extreme temperatures or moisture. Keep earrings away from perfume, lotions, and harsh chemicals. Use a soft cloth to wipe the beads clean and avoid abrasive materials that could scratch or dull the surface of the stones.
  • Durability: While the materials are generally sturdy, avoid wearing earrings in situations where they could be subjected to excessive pressure, such as sleeping, exercising, or heavy impacts. Regular wear should be fine, but always handle the earrings with care to maintain their beauty and longevity.

Oathfeed Classic Two-Bead Design

On Earrings’ Weight Principles

In principle I keep the weight below 5 grams per earring, so it doesn’t stretch or hurt your ears even if you wear it the whole day. Occasionally, for some designs, that weight limit exceeds by a gram – every pair has their specific weight marked under the general description or “dimensions” tab.

Star Garnet – The Celestial Compass

Star Garnet, particularly the Purple Starlight variety, is an enchanting gemstone known for its asterism – a star-like pattern that appears when light reflects off inclusions within the stone. This unique phenomenon is most commonly observed in garnets from Idaho, USA, and India, where the stones are typically dark purple to plum in color.

Etymology

The term “garnet” comes from the Latin “granatum,” meaning “pomegranate,” due to the stone’s seed-like appearance in some varieties. “Star Garnet” specifically refers to the star effect, while “Purple Starlight Garnet” describes its distinctive hue.

Cosmic Junction

Star Garnet aligns with Mars, symbolizing passion, protection, and grounding, resonating deeply with the root chakra which promotes stability and a connection to the Earth. Its metaphysical properties include:

Modern Spiritual Practices: Today, Star Garnet is believed to aid in navigating life’s journey, offering clarity, motivation, and a sense of direction. It’s used for grounding and to enhance one’s intuition, acting like a compass for the soul.

Native American Traditions: The Idaho Star Garnet, revered by indigenous tribes, was believed to light the way through life’s darkness, much like the stars in the night sky, guiding one’s path and offering protection.

Hindu Mythology: Garnets, in general, are associated with Agni, the god of fire, symbolizing purification, passion, and vitality. The star pattern in Star Garnet can be seen as a divine mark, enhancing these qualities with celestial guidance.

Medieval Lore: Garnets were used as amulets for protection in battle, thought to give their wearers courage and resilience. The star effect of Star Garnet might have been seen as an additional layer of divine protection or guidance.
