  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the beads and metal components with a soft, dry cloth. If needed, lightly dampen the cloth with water, but avoid soaking the earrings. Use a soft toothbrush for cleaning hard-to-reach areas. Avoid harsh chemicals or cleaning solutions.
  • Storage: Store earrings in a dry, cool place, ideally in a fabric-lined jewelry box or pouch to protect them from dust and scratches. When not in use, keep earrings separate from other jewelry to prevent abrasions. Avoid storing in damp or humid environments.
  • Metal Care: The black-coated hypoallergenic copper ear wires, darkened pins, and zinc alloy components may gradually tarnish with time. Clean these parts gently using a jewelry cloth designed for metals. Avoid using abrasive cloths or cleaning agents that could damage the finish. To minimize tarnishing, store your earrings in a dry, airtight container when not in use.
  • Stone Care: Each semi-precious stone and bead (such as tiger’s eye, onyx, jasper, and others) can be sensitive to extreme temperatures or moisture. Keep earrings away from perfume, lotions, and harsh chemicals. Use a soft cloth to wipe the beads clean and avoid abrasive materials that could scratch or dull the surface of the stones.
  • Durability: While the materials are generally sturdy, avoid wearing earrings in situations where they could be subjected to excessive pressure, such as sleeping, exercising, or heavy impacts. Regular wear should be fine, but always handle the earrings with care to maintain their beauty and longevity.

Oathfeed Classic Two-Bead Design

6 & 10mm beads, in some cases the size of the stone beads may vary +-1mm.

Hook lengths range between 1cm basic hooks, 1.5+cm English Locks, 2cm silver hooks – refer to the product photos.

On Earrings’ Weight Principles

In principle I keep the weight below 5 grams per earring, so it doesn’t stretch or hurt your ears even if you wear it the whole day. Occasionally, for some designs, that weight limit exceeds by a gram – every pair has their specific weight marked under the general description or “dimensions” tab.

Trochus Seashell – The Whispers of the Ocean

Trochus beads, made from the Trochus shell, are prized for their creamy white to light pink hues with a natural iridescence. These shells come from the Trochus niloticus snail, predominantly found in the Indo-Pacific region, including countries like Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Etymology

“Trochus” refers to the genus of marine snails from which the shells are sourced. These beads might also be called: Mother of Pearl Beads when referring to the nacre layer used in beads. Trochus Shell Beads.

Cosmic Junction

Trochus beads carry the essence of the ocean, resonating with:

Water Element: Connected to emotions, intuition, and the flow of life. They align with the sacral chakra, promoting creativity, passion, and emotional balance.

Modern Metaphysical Practices: Seashell beads, like Trochus, are believed to bring calmness, enhance psychic abilities, and connect one with the natural rhythms of the ocean, fostering peace and clarity.

Cultural Significance: In many coastal cultures, shells are seen as gifts from the sea, embodying the spirit of water, protection, and the moon’s cycles. They’ve been used in rituals for purification, as offerings to sea deities, or as currency in some Pacific cultures.

Paua Shell – The Ocean’s Kaleidoscope

Paua shell, derived from the abalone mollusk native to New Zealand, is renowned for its vibrant, iridescent colors ranging from deep blues and greens to purples and pinks. Each piece of Paua shell jewelry is unique, showcasing nature’s artistry through its nacreous layers. Paua shell is sustainably sourced from the coastal waters of New Zealand, and there aren’t lab-grown counterparts since its beauty is a product of natural growth.

Etymology
