About Rhodochrosite:

Rhodochrosite is a manganese carbonate mineral with a chemical composition of MnCO3. Its pure form (rare) is typically a rose-red colour, but it can also be shades of pink to pale brown. Quality banded specimens see use for decorative stones and jewellery. Due to its softness and perfect cleavage, it rarely enjoys faceted forms in jewellery.
